The 1st day of my Final year in uni has just ended. Classes this sem are kinda spread out.... I have classes everyday but only 2 hours of class for 3 days. I guess that's good for my FYP. My Monday is kind of crappy. 9-11 and then break all the way to 4. If I was still staying in PGP this wouldn't be a big problem. Now I'm staying off campus and I don't own a laptop so I don't really have anywhere to go. Hopefully can keep myself busy during that period. =(
Met with my supervisor last Saturday. Seemed like a nice young Indian. My topic for FYP is Mechanical Properties of Dentine so my lab and experiments will be mostly based in the dentistry department. Supposed to meet my supervisor again today but he hasn't replied my email on when to meet. Hopefully everything goes well and I'm able to get an idea on how busy I will be for this sem.
Exams are scarce for this semester. Only 3 final papers and no mid-terms. But I have quite a lot of essays to do so that may be a problem. Then again, I like essays more than final exams.
Film and History is a great module. The lecturers are very good speakers and they've manage to keep me awake through out the whole lecture. In addition, movies will be screen every week. Yes, EVERY WEEK! So I'll be watching a total of 12 movies through out the sem. Most of the movies are old ones and some we haven't even heard of but I believe each of the movie will be interesting to watch. Watched Memento today. A great show in my opinion. Really keeps you thinking and the way the show is filmed is great. The story is mainly about this guy who suffer's from short term memory lost after an accident. He can remember everything before the accident but anything after just fades away after awhile. The way they show the film is divided to 2 parts. 1 is from the future and 1 the past and the future will keep reversing while the past will keep going forward until in the end both stories joint up to reveal the REAL story behind. Confusing yes, you have to watch it to really understand. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the great director that brought us Dark knight. I highly recommend Memento to anybody that likes movies that make you think.

Choosing modules is not fun at all....
I need 1 more GEM and 3 more breadth/UE for the whole next year... Means I need to choose 4 modules that totally no relation to my Major... I totally have no idea on what to take.
On the bright side, I'm still left with 3 S/U so I can S/U 3 out of that 4 modules...
So any suggestions on what to take? =D

Quote: The heart can't think, so why follow your heart?
Veoh's not working in Malaysia anymore... It seems it stopped like 2 months ago but I only just found out because I was back in Singapore back then.... Now I can't watch the animes I want anymore!!!
The computer here back him is..... terribly lagging.... it definitely needs to be reformatted but I just don't have the required CD's and programs... So I'm gonna leave it as it is for now. The thing is, I wouldn't dare play a Dota game on this thing.. I'm afraid it'll just crash the moment the game starts... So there goes my nightly Dota games.
Manga's are coming out really slowly... and the slow connection here really does not encourage the starting of new manga's... The pages just takes too long to load.. So no manga during weekdays.
I can't seem to find a common topic to chat with people anymore... I find it hard to concentrate on a conversation because my mind will just wander off thinking of my problems.... I've tried to talk to some.. but I just can't seem to get the conversation to flow smoothly...
With totally nothing to do at all... I start thinking a lot... and it's not good when I start to think too much... Many things are clouding my mind and heart right now... relationships, studies, modules, FYP, finance along with a lot more other problems (mostly problems of friends.. but I do worry for them too...).
I can't help but feel emo during the nights.... sure, I can always go to bed early... but going to bed early only means I'll be thinking in the cold, dark and lonely room.. which I doubt will be any better than thinking at the computer.

Post-UFO
ahh.. barely had the time to online in the past 2 weeks. Had been so busy with UFO preparations and UFO itself. Stayed over at PGP for UFO nights. UFO was great, just like last year, the freshies were initially pretty "off" and it took quite a lot of effort from the seniors to actually light the fire (though there are some that are permanently "off").
I did not do much for this UFO though... I led my OG like a zombie leading.. My group Sei Ngan Zai was one of the quietest group and I can say it is all down to my fault. As a senior, I know I should have put all my troubles to 1 side and concentrate on keeping my group "on" but sadly.. I let them down.
Talking bout my OG, they may not be the noisiest and most "on" people.. but for some reason, we bonded quite well through-out the few days of UFO. I was really touched by their thank you messages that they gave me at the end of the BBQ. What really touched me was that they are thanking me despite me not fulfilling my duty as an OGL.
To Lee Yu, Kheng Siang, Wei Kean, Wen Qing, Carolyn, Jing Yi and Stephanie(though you joined us only after Sentosa), I would like to say I'm sorry for not being a good OGL and I truly thank you all for being such a great group.
I'm quite lazy to summarize the day-to-day happenings for UFO but pictures can be found in my facebook. Wen Qing has took a lot of pictures and tagged a lot of us on the way. All I can say is, taking away the fact that I was a bit under the weather I had a great time. Sad thing is... the number of freshie's msn I have is miserable.. lol
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On to another topic... I've been thinking a lot lately on a very strong four letter word which starts with a capital L.
I've always had a weak heart.. I tend to fall for people easily. Sometimes, its even possible for me to like 2 person at 1 time. Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure whether I'm actually falling for that person or am I just wanting to be close friends.
So now I'm really confused... What is Love? If my heart starts beating faster when I talk to you, does that mean I Love you? If I get upset if I see another guy getting close to you, does that mean I Love you? If I'm willing to spend hours of time just to catch a glimpse of you, does that mean I Love you?
When do I know that she's really the one? When do I know whether she's not worth my time or when I should give everything I got and not give up? A friend of mine said that... there's nothing wrong if you fall for people easily, but what if I'm going for some one and suddenly I fall for another person? or worst, when I'm already attached and I fall for somebody else? Wouldn't that be unfair to them? It makes me wonder... should I go after a girl if i start to have some feelings for her? or should I wait till I'm really sure? but if I wait, what if I wait too long and she's gone?
So many questions that has no definite answers to it....... I know... I think too much... but I can't help it... I envy people that just go for it without thinking.. some come out successfull, some end up regretfull.... but at least, they tried....
There's really a lot in my mind now... but I find it hard to actually type it out.... I just hope when I get back to Malaysia, everything will just fly by and I can start my busiest semester in NUS on a good note...
ahh.. its been a long time.... just too lazy to update.....
My last post was about having trouble finding a place to stay, guess what? I managed to found a pretty nice place. It's at Clementi, 2200 per month. House is not very old and its pretty cosy. Engin is only 3 stops away. There's food, karaoke, mcd, kfc, pizza hut, banks, buses, mrt, and grocery stores. What more can you ask for? Great location lor. The only problem is.. the kitchen is filled with roaches. Been killing damn lot of them but they just come back every night.
Another thing I'm afraid of is sharing a room (currently sleeping in 1 room cause the rest of my housemates are not back yet). No, I'm not afraid my room mate will disturb me. More of the other way round. Everybody knows I always sleep very late, the doors are a bit squeaky so I'm scared that I'll wake him when I go to bed. I'm also scared that I snore... =(
Oh well, hope everything goes well.
The past 2 days have been filled with sports and dinner meetings. Swam at John's place yesterday. Unlike the first time that we swam there, this time I really did swim (of course the amount of swimming done is no where near last time when I was swimming regularly). Hands are damn tired, could barely lift up my hands when I was bathing. It's still aching now when I apply pressure.
Today played football, don't know why but was damn tiring. Legs are currently feeling like jelly.
Whole body aching, never thought pain would actually make me feel good =D.
Quote: Men don't cry for themselves, but for their comrades
Accommodation is really starting to be a problem. I've been searching for more than a week now and I still haven't confirmed where I'm going to stay from next month onwards.
It's really funny how naive people can be, a lot of people I know are having the thinking of "cheh, find place to stay only mar, how hard can that be?" Seriously, this people that just sit at home and do nothing should just keep their comments to the minimum and let the people that are searching do their work. It's already freaking stressful having to search for a place for other people what more having people rushing you and giving requests that are simply naive and childish. If you want to say something, come down and search. At least know the situation before talking so much. Seriously, a lot of people are asking me "So long already still haven't find house?" followed up by "you slacking is it?". Not that I mind if it's just a joke, but many do seem to feel that if you want a to get a house, it's just telling agents what you want and the agents will get something EXACTLY like what you ask for. Come on lar, grow up people.
So what so hard about finding a place to stay? Let me list it down based on what I'm going through now:
wah fark, as im typing this... Germany is leading 3-1.. CB I bet 5 bucks on Portugal leh......
Come on lar, grow up people.
So what so hard about finding a place to stay? Let me list it down based on what I'm going through now:
- Agents are selfish people, calling/sms-ing them DOES NOT mean they are going to get back to you. I've talked to so many agents on the phone I lost count and NONE of them have kept on updating me. At most is 1 unit and after that gone. Never to be heard from again.
- Getting a suitable house to view, most of the units recommended by agents are over budget or just plain fugly places. Those that actually bother to tend to you are actually desperate to sell their over priced house or ugly places that nobody wants.
- The pressure of satisfying everybody in the house. This is why if you want to look for a place to stay, EVERYBODY should go together. It's not easy having all the responsibilty of the next 1 year of comfort for everybody in the house resting on your shoulders. Sure some are working and have something to do, can't blame them... but seriously making a decision for others is not a relaxing thing to do.
- Meeting to the demands of housemates. Luckily I don't have this problem, but trying to search for a place for some one that has so many requests is just a pain in the ass. Imagine the stress of having to search,view,choose a place PLUS having housemates that make unreasonable requests like "I WANT CHEAP AND NEAR AND NICE AND NEW AND NOT SO MANY PEOPLE AND bla bla bla". Sure, you want? you find lor. I'll go look for a place that NORMAL people are renting. bye.
- Upon viewing, a decision has to be made. Viewing units over here does not mean 1 tenant view. It's more like a battlefield where a few groups of tenants are viewing at the same time. Make a decision a little bit slower and the place is gone, make it too fast and you may regret it for the whole next year. This condition plus all the points above just make the pressure freaking big.
- Travelling... wah you thing wat? Agents come pick you up wan ar? NO LAR, have to take bus/cab all the way down to the place. All this adds to daily expenses lor. Not cheap wan leh travel up and down to see houses. =.=
wah fark, as im typing this... Germany is leading 3-1.. CB I bet 5 bucks on Portugal leh......
back in sg....
Sunday
Went out for lunch with the Lim family (mother's side). Went for some famous salted chicken in Salak South. Forget what's the name of the place but the food was good. After lunch we went back to the Lim's residence (house very much as big as John Chan's, maybe smaller but the design here is much more relaxing). Slept the whole afternoon away because I slept at 6am the night before. Woke up just in time for dinner. Went to Klang for more good food. This time it was a place which is famous for their fish heads. Once again I fail to remember the name of the place, but the "siew yuk"(roast pork) was damn gosu! Haven't eating such amazing siew yuk for so long di. The other dishes were damn good too. Will definitely want to go back there. Went back home after dinner.
Monday
Dad took us for a buffet lunch in Shangri-La for a VERY belated birthday treat for me. Gila, ate till stomach nearly burst. Oysters FTW!! The desert section has to be the best section for the buffet. So many chocolates!!! Enjoyed the 2 and a half hours there =D. After lunch we stopped by Pyramid to collect my bus ticket. I needed to get my *ahem* games desperately cause I'm heading back to Sg the very next day so I asked my parents to drop me off at Summit on the way home. Haven't been to Summit for so long di, even though it's damn near my house. Walked awhile before I went to buy 2 games and headed back home by foot. Reached home and dropped dead on the bed. Mom woke me up for dinner. Went for Hokkien mee in Jalan 222. Ordered siham! I just love siham, it's just like oysters but smaller and cheaper! Headed home to pack right after dinner.
Tuesday
11am bus back to Singapore. Slept through most of the trip. Nothing much happened after that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Was watching One Tree Hill and I must say, I really like the show. People that don't watch it for the full 5 seasons (and still running) just disregard it as another teen drama but I feel it's a series where it really teaches people about life. The philosophy, the music, the story, it's all good. The latest episode was a cliffhanger... can't wait for next week's episode to come out!
In the mean time, I'm quite free apart from the house searching. Ask me out please~~~~~
