Shitz.....

I just got back my 1st Reason and Persuasion essay..... sad to say... i didnt do very well....

Well i even i thought the essay wasnt good enough right after i finish it but i choose not to do anymore edits on it cause of time constrains...

My tutor gave me encouraging comments though.... He said i had a very philosophical way of writing and i have what it takes to write a good philosophy essay... the bad thing about my essay was i did not exert enough "control" in it.. i didnt make it convincing enough... and i agree with him.. i like my essay but i knew it wasnt convincing enough.

I guess writing it during the Chinese New Year holidays wasnt such a good idea...

All i can do now is finish up my 2nd essay(which is due in lest than 2 weeks with me having to study for 2 CA's coming up next week) and hope i get a better grade for it.... i need this A... i really need it...

Found friend.....

lol.... just a few days after writing about missing Leslie, he suddenly appears online!!

haha, had a short chat with the guy.. seems that he's staying home to rest due to personal reasons. According to him, if everything goes rite, he'll be back studying next sem.. but most prob not engin he says...

He's had a bad year so far, hope the remaining months of the years will go smoothly for him.

Hope to see you soon Leslie!

On to another topic... went out to West Mall in Bukit Batok to fix my Creative Muvo MP3 player.. well, according to some sources... there is a Creative branch in West Mall.. but my sources was wrong!! So i went in to the only electrical shop(which does sells Creative products) to ask whether they do repairs. The sales assistant told me no. He was kind enough to tell me that there's a Creative branch in Jurong East.. or so i thought...

Went to Jurong East since it was only 1 station away. Guess what? Wrong info again!!! zzzz there was no Creative branch over there!!! The stupid sales assistant even dared to say "VERY EASY FIND WAN, ITS JUST OUTSIDE THE MRT STATION. 1 BIG BUILDING VERY EASY TO SEE". Turns out my ass was easier to find....

After a phone call made by Sarah, we found out that there IS a branch near by... Its beside IMM and by the time we found out... it was already close to 6... meaning the place will probably be closed by the time i reach there.... sigh...

So we decided to just have dinner at Jurong Point. Sarah wanted to clear her KFC debt to me so we ate at KFC. Heres my advice to you all, DONT MAKAN KFC IN SINGAPORE!!! THE CHICKEN TASTES SO DIFFERENT!! Its not the 1st time i came out of KFC unsatisfied with my meal.. in fact, every single time i came out from KFC in Singapore, i came out cursing... so take my word for it.. Malaysia KFC is so much better than Singapore's...

Those that are impatient, click on the slide-show when it is playing, you will be brought to the album page where you can browse the pics manually. Those who were with us that time, take time to browse through the other albums... its worth the time...

Currently, Leslie and his gf Mianzi has gone on a long holiday from studies... i dont know where and dont know when they'll be back.. Hope they'll be able to join us in our future MSL activities again soon...

sucks....

Life here in NUS really sucks.. finally comes a sem where i find the modules bearable. At the beginning of the sem i was happy with my progress in studies... the modules area easier to understand for me this sem and i really thought this will be the sem i pull my CAP up to a respectable number(its currently so damn low i don't dare tell anybody bout it).

Haha, that was only what i thought during the beginning... slowly, obstacles started appearing...its like i was on a straight road but trees starting falling in front of me making it difficult for me to reach my destination....

The obstacles started with my chicken pox... i missed classes for 1 week plus, which means i was waaaaaaaaaaay behind... then came chinese new year rite before mid-terms... i know everybody is affected but by the time chinese new year came, i still haven't caught up with my studies yet... and during chinese new year, i neither have the mood nor the time to study... and my mid-terms were 2 days after i came back from the holidays... so you can say i screwed up my mid-terms up...

Then there was the unfortunate death of my grandpa, again i started to drift away from my studies... Now, im really lost... in lectures, i feel like i'm going into wrong lectures... totally lost... zzzz....

I still have another month to go.. hopefully nothing else happens... and hopefully i can still make my CAP respectable....

Another thing that sucks.... my hard disk is not with me... waiting for it to come back..... i miss it.....

Grandfathers......

I was staying up late to watch MU vs Lille when my mom suddenly called me around 5am.... she announced to me that my grandfather(dad's side) had just past away due to heart failure. I rushed back to KL a few hours later via bus from larkin. Once in KL we immediately rushed back to my hometown Kampar, Perak.

Reached Kampar about 7 something... the chinese funeral ceremony started right after we drop our bags. A few sessions were to follow until the next nite when we burned all the stuff for "kong kong"(house, car, money etc.). What i was really surprise at was that my family didnt really show any signs of sadness. No tears were spilt.... Until the morning where we were to escort "kong kong" to his grave. Everybody cried... My father, the eldest son was obviously trying to hold back his tears.. but it didnt take long for him to succumb to his feelings.. everybody had tears flowing... except me..

Now, i'm not that heartless... I DO feel sad, but i just couldnt cry.. It was the same with the time where my other "kong kong" died. I too did not shed a tear back then...I really dunno why.. I love my 2 "kong kongs" very much, both have done a lot in raising me to who I am today.

Maybe one of the reason's why i didnt cry was, i really had this feeling that they left us to go to another place better... I was told by my father that "kong kong" died without suffering... and when I was looking at him in the coffin, it seems like he was just sleeping... so peacefully.. I guess, instead of feeling sad.. there was a hint of happiness in me.. I find myself thanking God for letting go in such a peaceful manner.

To both of my beloved grandfathers, you two will be dearly missed by me and the rest of the family.. may both of you rest in piece..

Sigh.........

Liverpool 0, man u 1.... thats the final score for the match at Anfield... Liverpool lost to a 91st minute goal scored by o'shea despite pretty much dominating play for the whole match... Really sucks when a team is playing better than the opposition just to lose to them at stoppage time... and the goal was a lucky goal too....zzzz

Went out for CNY reunion dinner organized for MSL(Malaysians Students League). About 70 of us where there... Nice to see those people living in hall. Havent seen some of them in a long time. The food... sucks... terrible... PGP canteen serves better food.. but then again, i enjoyed my time there. Had a good time chatting with people. Watched the stupid match over there in the restaurant with the other football kakis.

After the match, we came back to PGP, me, Kai Ju, Wei Loon, Ivan, Elaine and Chee HAn headed to Aik Yong's room to do a bit of Chinese New Year gambling. XD.. Started of with Ivan becoming the "chong" for black jack... or "ban lat" as the hokkien call it. I think i didnt win or lose during that session.. the game was slow...

After awhile, seeing Aik Yong being the biggest winner, we decided to change our "chong" to him. We then begin to play a different game, "siam ban lat". Don't know what its called in English but its similar to black jack....err on second thought.. not so similar. HArd to explain the rulez here but the money was definitely moving faster.. Aik yong was having a good time being "chong". Winning a lot of money at first. There's a point where a few of us where losing about SD20++. THen Chee Han left because he lost too much.. Towards the end, we started to win back our money. I ended up winning SD9. Elaine was our biggest winner, SD20++ ... =P

Gotta sleep soon... have to wake up at 8.30 am tomorrow for football....

Exams.....

Just finish my mid-terms today....Can't say i did badly but I definitely did not do well...When I was on the way back from my exam, I was thinking back on my schooling days. I used to do great in exams. Apart from my Malay and History, I had always did well in exams. I wasn't the best and some may still say my grades weren't good enough during my secondary school, but hell I'm still above average. After SPM, I went on to take South Australian Matriculation(SAM). Done a good job there too if you ask me. Though I was never the best in school, my results were always good enough to contest for best in class.

Studying wasn't the main reason for my above average results. In fact, I hated to study. I would take any chance to escape from studying back then. I still remember spending time in cyber-cafes days before spm. My results were still acceptable despite my constant slacking.

It took me sometime to recall, but it finally came to me... The reason for my results back then was my great confidence when I step in the exam hall(or class room when we were in school). I can say I had this confidence in taking exams in me since i scored perfect for both maths and english back in standard 1. Easy task for most of us, but it did build the confidence I take an exam.

To have confidence in an exam is very important, you start thinking faster, better, more accurately and smarter. I had that confidence.. allowing me to make the most out of the limited study time I had(limited by me XD). That very confidence got me the results that brought me to NUS... and now in NUS, that confidence has been totally crushed.

My 1st sem here was a disaster... Coming to NUS after SAM wasn't a good idea cause I learned lest in SAM when compared to A-levels and STPM. So it was harder to keep up. To add to that, I wasn't used to the "breeze through 1 module in 3 months" way of teaching. I was struggling to keep up and when exams came, the confidence that I had just ran away...I did BAD in my 1st sem.. very bad. After a nightmare 1st sem, I can't seem to score anymore... Sometimes, I come out of the exam hall feeling totally lost.. I keep asking myself.. "WHY, why here? why did I choose NUS?" I don't think I'll ever find an answer to that.

My CAP currently is very bad... don't ask me how much.. ITS BAD!!! Despite people telling me it'll get worst each passing sem, I still believe I have what it takes to pull it up and graduate with a decent CAP. Now all I need is to find that confidence again....
