One Tree Hill

So I'm here in Indonesia.. Ampah, some where in Central Kalimantan.. work related. I've been here a few days and well we don't really have anything to do here during the night. Knowing that, I downloaded Season 7 and 8 of One Tree Hill and started watching again.
I've watched Season 7 before but I stopped so long that I've forgotten the story so I'm rewatching it again. I love One Tree Hill, everything about the show is just so good since the beginning of season 1. I got attracted during season 1 because of the basketball involved and well the soundtrack was just amazing (Gavin Degraw's I don't wanna be as a starting track? fucking awesome no?).
I believe the writers of the show are incredibly talented. The great thing about the show is every season sees the characters grow. From Highschool teenagers to grown up adults. And the show is loaded with inspirational quotes and real life situations we can really learn from. After nearly every arc, we get something like a narration at the end of the episodes sometimes in the form of a speech or just a simple conversation but I find most of them to be really meaningful. Things we can really learn and apply. Oh and did I say the soundtracks are fantastic? Every season we get great music and by great I don't mean those meaningless pop or hip hop songs you hear on mainstream radio but songs with meaningful lyrics.
I'm not hooked on it as I was during my uni days (used to spent hours watching continuously) but I'm pretty happy to spend my nights here watching One Tree Hill.
I will buy the box set with all 8 seasons when I get the chance. Let me know if anybody sees it in Singapore or Malaysia ya!

Dota 2

Dota 2 isnt out yet... but the world is having the first look at it at Gamescom 2011 via The International, a competition with the prize pool totalling up to USD 1.6 million..

Spent the past 4 days watching the competition every night and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with what valve has done. Graphics has improved but not to the extend of being overly beautified like HoN and they added cute in game speeches lol.

The standard of the games has been amazing. It's the finals now between Ehome and Navi.. we couldn't ask for a better finals. Game 4 now with Navi leading 2-1, past 2 games has been freaking good. Hoping for the next to be as good.

Okays Game 4 starting, bye!

One of the best dinners of my life

I thought my Kpop madness would die down after i started working... Never did I thought that I was fated to go to another concert that brought the fever back to levels probably even higher than before..

Kpop Heal The World featuring T-ara, Mblaq, Tmax and After school/Orange Caramel. VERY solid line up but tickets just were to expensive for the xiao mei meis and xiao di dis... and the older people would see this as a waste of time because of them wouldnt want to pay the full ticket price just to see 1 of their favourite group.

I predicted hard sales and it really did happened.. soon prices of tickets started to drop and due to some connections we managed to get our cat 2 tickets for a bargain price of $20! or so we thought.. On the final day itself cat 1 tickets were going for as low as $40

As predicted, they were empty cat 1 seats so we moved up from cat 2 to cat 1! LOL and when they starting singing we slowly ended up standing right at the front. I'm not gonna get into the details but lets just say I'm VERY satisfied with what I could see on that day. This is Ultimately the closest to a stage I've ever been in any type of concert. Even closer than standing in the pit for Kpopnight. Sure the quality of performance will never match Kpopnight but the eye candy was amazing.

Seeing After School so close, I can easily conclude that After School is the prettiest girl group out there. Yes even more so than SNSD (Then again, SNSD's strongest appeal to me aren't their looks). I had trouble trying to focus on any of the members of After School because they were all just so amazingly pretty but ultimately Raina's eyes and voice still captivates me the most.. I have a thing for cute eyes hehe.. Seeing Because of You live.. was just like a dream come true.. one of my favourite AS songs.... <3

T-max was up next, pity them.. they're not exactly bad and they have some pretty good songs but people only know them for their BOF OSTs.. Nevertheless, good fan service from the boys, very interactive.

MBLAQ.. lol the girls totally went wild.. Lee Joon tore his shirt.. LOL.. I was busy looking at GO though. Just love his voice and I really think he looks good. He's the type that keeps his shirt on and will either melt you with his voice or make you laugh so hard at his jokes.

Finally, T-ara.. undoubtly the crowd favourite (also because the main population of After School fans decided to boycott the concert because of the stupid management only deciding to add in After School to the line up because ticket sales were slow). At this point we were RIGHT INFRONT of the damn stage. Wasn't hard for me to focus on 1 member though. I had always loved Eunjung.. her voice, her personality, her looks.. everything just attracts me.. Just spent the whole time staring and filming her...

All in all, the concert was good.. I wouldnt say it was worth the initial cat 1 price.. but anything maybe somewhere around SGD120 for cat 1 would be the concerts worth. Enjoyed myself a lot yesterday.

So came the fateful day today.. Few of my friends wanted to stalk T-ara because they knew the girls were flying off 1 am the next day.. so they went to the hotel in the morning just to wait for the girls to go out to play or eat... Little do they know the girls spent the WHOLE day in the hotel.. probably because of the rain and the managers getting worried because of the crowd gathering around the hotel.

The few of us that didn't go in the morning.. decided to meet up for dinner.. some where around the hotel just to see if we were lucky... Met at around 7.30pm at city hall and walked to Conrad Hotel.. Nothing was happening so we decided to walk around to hunt for food.. walked about 30-40 mins before we got an sms saying the girls came out to eat right opposite the hotel. We rushed right over and we saw people crowding outside the restaurant. We on the otherhand just went straight INTO the restaurant to eat. LOL. Eating right beside T-ara.. that feeling was.. amazing.. I DONT EVEN REMEMBER THE TASTE OF MY BEEF TERRIYAKI LOLOL.

Had a good view of eunjung, jiyeon and hyomin.. and when they left.. Eunjung and Soyeon waved at us! HAM EUN JUNG SMILED AND WAVED AT USSSS. AND IF YOU'VE SEEN HOW SHE WAVES AND SMILE YOU WOULD KNOW HOW HEART STOPPING THAT MOMENT WAS FOR ME! God I was just so happy during that moment. I would never had thought I would go so crazy over dinner.. haha..

4 groups to add on to the list of live kpop acts i've seen.. Beast is next.. I'm hoping to catch B1A4 in August.. Hopefully some stalking for FT Island when they're here for the Korean Wave Concert.

No pictures or videos because i'm lazy.. I got full eunjung fancams for Bo beep bo beep and I go crazy because of you though.. just lazy to put it here.. LOL

GREAT NIGHT

Lets add T-ara, After School, MBLAQ and T-Max to the list of korean groups i've seen live :)

AMAZINGLY FREAKINGLY CLOSE THIS TIME... splitting headache.. gonna upload my 2 eunjung fancams a bit later... and maybe do a longer blog post abt the concert.. it seriously was absolutely great.

6th sense

I have this knack of receiving random info from surroundings randomly.. its like i tend to notice things faster than the people around me... the problem is, when i WANT to find out about things i cant... stuff that i never thought of just pops up in my mind and i'm suddenly realizing things.. most of the times, things that i shouldn't know, or at least i'm better off not knowing about...

i'm not trying to say i'm good or anything but i really do believe i have a very strong sixth sense and i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one realizing this as i've mind hacked the people around me (most of the time unintentionally) countless of times.

i've stumbled upon something today... unintentionally of course.. and i do wonder... is this observation skill i have a gift or a curse? because it seems like the more i know about stuff the worst i feel.. especially when i cant really tell anyone about it because no one else realizes anything.. LOL

argh watever.. random mumbling..

Taylor Alison Swift

ok, I can add Taylor Swift to the list of celebrities that I've seen in the flesh. SHE WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME I TELL YOU I WAS DAMN HAPPY! HAHA!

Was impromptu but me and a few friends decided to try and catch a glimpse of Taylor before her concert.. Went to her hotel but she wasn't in. After some investigating, we found out she was in Tanglin Mall so we took a cab down. Sadly we missed her and soon after Taylor herself tweeted that she's on the way to Singapore Indoor Stadium to prepare for her concert. We then took cab to the stadium.

A crowd gathered at a barricaded area leading to the staff entrance so we hung out there and waited. 2 white vans carrying the band members arrived first followed by a black mercedes van which Taylor herself was sitting in. The moment she got down the van, she went over the the barricades and started greeting all the fans. The best part was she was carrying her own marker and started signing everything in sight! LOL

At this point I was already pushing my way in through the crowd to the front of the barricades and all the pushing paid off because at a point of time she was standing right infront of me. Sadly, I didn't have ANYTHING with me that could be signed.. I could only watch in envy as she was signing the fanboard of the girl beside me.. An unforgettable experience.. this girl.. so young yet so charismatic and pretty. Amazing

Regretted not watching the concert... Would have been pretty epic

Fate?

What are the odds of you going to a foreign country for a holiday.... and the girl of your dreams so happens to ALSO go to the same country which is also foreign to her for a holiday on the exact same time? I never thought it was possible but it happened.... I didn't manage to see her but the fact that we both unintentionally went to the same place for a holiday at the same time means something right?

Do you believe in fate?

I'll try blog about Hong Kong some time soon... but just like what happened for Kpop Night, I doubt I'll actually take time to write out a long detailed post about my trip.... I'm just too lazy.. I'll wait for the pictures and we'll see whether I have the mood then.

A new year...

So another year has passed... seems like I've stopped blogging much since I've started twitter + tumblr... Just can't find the mood to actually type out long paragraphs. 140 words is just so much easier and much less of a hassle to do.

Here's a quick round-up of 2010. I wont be doing specific events or stuff.. Just a brief summary.

2010 passed like in just a blink of an eye. I spent the whole year.. doing nothing I guess... There were moments when I feel the world isn't a nice to be in and kinda have thoughts on whether life is worth living. Thankfully I have supportive friends and family that were always there for me.

2010 was the year where I really got into Kpop. My whole life now is dominated by not just SNSD alone but Koreans as a whole. Dramas, music, variety shows, food... Spending a lot of money and time because of this but I wouldn't say I'm regretting it. Kpop has somehow changed me a lot. I'm not as emo as I used to be. I'm a happier person now and I tend to look at the brighter side of things. I may still be a bit short-tempered at times but I do realize that and it's something I need to change.

2010 was when my luck was really terrible. If you backtrack to one of my first posts of the year, there's a post of me talking about my terrible luck. It was a year that made me realized that luck is a major factor in life and ignoring it is not an option. Things were terrible all year round and yes, there were a few good moments but nevertheless it's been one of my worst years ever.

2010 was the year that I made the most Singaporeans friends compared to the past few years that I've been in Singapore. I can count the number of Singaporen friends that I've made during my course of study in NUS with only 1 hand. That number expanded amazingly quick after I went for my first SONE meet up with the 138 gang. I now know people from all corners of the island and it feels good to expand my list of contacts. Another good thing that Kpop brought into my life I guess.

All in all, I survived the year but it's more of a shameful year for me. The year that I saved when I skipped from standard 3 to standard 5 was just wasted in 2010. I'm determined thought to not waste another year.

In 2011, I need to find a job.... like fast. I'm praying right after Chinese New Year. I'm also looking into the option of coming back to Malaysia, I'll going to just set a date and if I don't get a job by that date I'll start sending resumes to Malaysian companies.

I'm looking forward to what the year may bring. Good or bad, I'm still gonna live it with smiles. An important thing that I've learned from 9 girls is to keep going on despite the troubles that appear . Obstacles are not there to stop you but only to slow you down from getting where you want to be. I'm just going to take my time and enjoy this road called life.

Its late but Happy New Year! =)

Retarded Me

People think I'm having fun at home. People think I like spending my time watching dramas, playing games, reading mangas and watching videos of soshi. Let me tell you this, I'm no where close to happy doing all these day and night. You people don't understand what it's like to sit here everyday hoping to get a call from one of the many potential employers that you have sent an email to.

I've been doing this same shit for months and no, I'm not liking how I spent my life everyday. You may say I can just go and simply find a job first. Easier said than done? I've applied for lower level positions but they deemed me as overqualified because I have a degree. Degree job employers sees me as under-qualified because my results sucks and I have no work or internship experience. I'm caught in the damn middle where nobody wants to give me a chance. Not being a PR isn't really helping either.

Find a part-time job? Do you think I have never thought of it? Sure my results are bad but I'm not lacking of common sense. I CAN'T work part-time, I have no valid pass to allow me to do so. The same for any other full time odd jobs, employers will not want to apply a work permit for a person they know will leave once he gets a better job offer.

Sure I brought this upon myself. If I had studied harder or made more initiative to get an internship, I probably wouldn't be in this position now but that's all in the past and I can't do shit about it now.

I'm not proud of myself, I'm 23 with a University Degree yet I've been leeching off my parents for God knows how long already.

Should I just run back to Malaysia and try to get a job there? Then again there's the transportation issue there.. and my room.. if I don't find a replacement I'll still have to pay for the rent...

Fuck.. maybe I should just spend the money I have left in my bank on some last minute vocal course and go for the JYP auditions... =.=

Just realized I was supposed to blog about the kpopnight... but never really had the heart to do it.. I'll just leave it at that... sigh.. blogging has just turned into an output for my whines....

23rd October 2010

Ok, I'm supposed to blog about the concert... I have lots of things to say about it... but i just can't think properly at the moment... having post-concert depression.... don't get me wrong, the concert was nothing short of excellent. The sound system and the venue was a bit bad but this has to be 1 of the biggest concert ever organized in Singapore before.. 7 groups.. 3 rookies with 4 highly established groups... amazing I tell you...

I'll do a more detail post when I'm not feeling so depressed....

For those who are thinking that I should snap back to reality.. let me tell you this.. the reason why I am depressed is because I HAVE SEEN REALITY. Seeing them live was the greatest moment of my life... realizing later that we're of different worlds and I'll never be able to talk to them as equals is just plain depressing.

G.Na - Loving You

Lol.. the song in title.. feel like singing it to G.Na herself after meeting her yesterday.

A big group of us from 138 went for her fansign. Most of us gathered at Bugis to queue during lunch time. Few of them were queuing since 7.30 am so yeah, our group actually got the 2nd spot right behind the main SG G.Na fanclub's group.

All we needed for the fansign was the CD and a receipt to proof that we bought it from Singapore.

Waste of time? No. This girl here is a fantastic singer. Voice, looks, passion, attitude, she's got everything I tell you. Our group consist of hardcore SNSD fans. Half of them wanted to attend the fansign just to get her autograph on the CD to sell it out at an elevated price. After listening to her? Nearly all of them changed their minds and wanted to keep her autograph for themselves.

I was dumbfounded when she was sitting right in front of me signing my booklet. She was so beautiful up close that I couldn't really think straight. She was so busy signing booklets that she barely has the time to look up but she does look up occasionally to smile.. and I was lucky enough to see her smile at me 3 times.. lol, was pretty funny.. my 2 friends in front of me said thank you after receiving her signature and when she look up to acknowledge their thank yous, for some reason she looked at my direction instead of theirs. Probably unintentional but hey, I'm not complaining =p . I couldn't bring myself to say anything when she looked at me though.. I opened my mouth but nothing came out.. haha.. fuck, never thought I would come upon a person so beautiful. Not to mention some one with such an angelic voice. She sounds VERY good live. In fact I think her CD voice isn't as good as her live voice.

For those that are thinking she's fake or plastic? Go fuck yourself. Tired of all these stupid stereotypes on the Korean industry. It's obvious that plastic surgery is more common in the western side now. Accusing them of being plastic just because they're Korean is just fucking retarded. It's just like calling every Muslim a terrorist (no offence intended).

G.Na just debuted like 3 months ago, she's 23 this year but she's gonna make it big. She has the potential to reach the heights of Utada and Ayumi maybe even surpassing them. It's all up to Cube Ent.'s management now. All the best to you girl.

Tiffany -

Khaotic

I'm finally gonna be able to see them... Cat1 standing ticket with me now... after 16 hours at 313 Somerset..

It's my first time queuing for something so big. Apart from the terrible management by Prooflabel which I rather not write about, I felt the whole overnight thing was a pretty good experience. Got to know a lot of people, learned a thing or two about crowd management (thanks to the failure of Prooflabel) and I've got my ticket!

Believe me, I will never be able to get my ticket at cost price if I didn't stay overnight. Even by staying, my "random" queue number of 2262 will not even come close of snagging me a ticket. Luckily the 138 group (138 being the number of all the Oh! jerseys added up together and yes, Fany's 0 is included), had enough people over there to buy just enough tickets for all of us that stayed overnight. It was a bit sad that some people in our group that couldn't stay overnight with us didn't get their tickets but we did what we could and rest assured we will still paint the concert venue pink for our girls.

And just in case people are wondering? When we sones(SNSD fans are called sones, like duh) meet up, we don't only talk about SNSD and kpop. Many other topics come into the conversations too =.=

Well though I did say I wouldn't write anything about Prooflabel's failure.. I still want to share something a fellow sone wrote:

I have my ticket, thanks to the paragon of management and crowd control skills that is Proof Label!

From the events of the past 24 hours, I've drawn many valuable lessons.

1. Behold, the foundation of one of the greatest organizations to grace Singaporean soil : NO HEAD, NO TAIL.

2. It is indeed humanly possible to be inhumanly incompetent.

3. It is possible to be in an OFFICIAL QUEUE and then be given RANDOM QUEUE NUMBERS. Now that's a first, and definitely something to remember.

Proof Label, it is with deepest sincerity that I say to you...you couldn't organize the clothes in your wardrobe, much less an event involving 6 highly respected groups from KOREA, and consequently 6 of the largest and most fervent local fandoms in Singapore.

Do you understand the word 'fandom'? These are groups of people who grin with glee at the sight of the slightest upturned lip of their idols. People who would scream and sing their love and support JUST SO their idols would know they had it.

Obviously, fandom is a new word to you.

You made thousands of hopefuls gather at 313 late a night, thinking that they could have a fair chance in getting a ticket to see their idols next month, then lied to them over and over again, made them sit for hours before telling those in front "oh, you'll be getting randomized queue tags." *applause* - no - *standing ovation*.

The situation last night was so hopelessly ridiculous I cannot even begin to describe it in words, and I know there are countless others who feel the same way.

I would offer you my finger...two, in fact, but that would just lower me down to the level of your absolutely admirable organizational skills.

You have just lost the faith of EVERYONE present at yesterday's event, and quite possibly many more in time to come.

Take our advice. Don't bother trying to 'organize' something like this for us again. Leave it to the professionals

Credits: Khairul from SG sones facebook group

Couldn't have written it any better. Nevertheless, thank you Prooflabel for bringing the girls here. I freaking hope you guys don't do something stupid again and screw the concert up for the 6 bands. We're all already at our limits after that bullshit you put us all through just for the tickets.

Oh by the way.. I'm on the front page of The New Paper.. LOL! Now that's a first.
